1. Who we are

SparklePlay is provided by QTI Labs Private Limited, Hyderabad, Telangana, India. QTI Labs is responsible for the SparklePlay product information described in this policy. Privacy enquiries can be sent to support@qtilabs.com.

2. Scope

This policy applies to the SparklePlay mobile application, its creator, review and publishing features, and the SparklePlay product pages operated by QTI Labs. It explains how information is handled when a user signs in, creates or tests a game, uses My Studio, submits a Game ID for review, purchases or restores access, or asks QTI Labs for support.

The general QTI Labs website privacy policy applies separately to ordinary browsing of qtilabs.com outside the SparklePlay product experience.

3. Information we process

The information processed depends on the features a person uses and the version of SparklePlay available on their device. It can include:

  • Account information: account/user identifier, display name, email address and sign-in provider information made available through the chosen sign-in method.
  • Creator information: game title, selected game family or variant, creator-entered game content, settings, draft state, Game ID, validation state and timestamps.
  • My Studio and review information: draft, pending review, approved or changes-required status; reviewer outcome; submission and resubmission metadata.
  • Publishing entitlement information: available publishing credits, credit usage, plan/entitlement state and purchase/restore information required to provide paid features.
  • Support information: details a user or parent/guardian chooses to provide when requesting help.
  • Technical information: limited app, device, network, error or security information generated by the app or infrastructure where needed to operate and protect the service.

Users should not place sensitive personal information, contact details, school details, home addresses, passwords or similar private information inside game content.

4. Accounts and sign-in

SparklePlay is built with Firebase services and supports account-based functionality so a creator's work and product state can be associated with the correct account. Available sign-in methods may differ by platform and app version. Where a third-party identity provider is used, that provider authenticates the user and may provide SparklePlay with basic account information needed for sign-in.

QTI Labs does not receive the password used with an external identity provider. A parent or guardian should manage or supervise account creation where applicable law or the child's age requires it.

5. Game creation, drafts and My Studio

SparklePlay processes the content and configuration needed to create, validate, test and manage a game. This may include the game family, selected variant, creator-entered words, questions, answers, pairs, sequences, categories, colours, objects, settings, status and Game ID.

Drafts and My Studio records may be stored locally on the device and/or in QTI Labs' supported cloud services depending on the feature and product version. The purpose is to let the creator continue work, test a game, manage its status and prepare it for review.

Keep game content appropriate. SparklePlay is intended for playful creation. Do not use creator fields to disclose a child's full name together with contact details, precise location, school information or other sensitive personal data.

6. Review, publishing and Game IDs

When a new Game ID is submitted for review, QTI Labs may process the submitted game content, validation information, creator/account identifier, submission timestamp and review status. Reviewers may access the submitted content to check whether it is suitable for the supported publishing experience and may approve it, request changes or decline publication.

If changes are requested, the same Game ID may be corrected and resubmitted. Review records can be retained as needed to operate the workflow, investigate misuse and avoid charging a second publishing credit for a permitted same-ID resubmission.

7. Children's and family privacy

SparklePlay is designed as a family-oriented creativity and play product and may be used by children under parent or guardian supervision. We aim to limit personal information to what is reasonably necessary to operate the account, creation, review, publishing and purchase features being used.

  • Parents and guardians should supervise a child's account and creation activity where appropriate.
  • Where applicable law requires parental or guardian consent for account-based or data-processing features, the responsible adult should provide or manage that consent before allowing the child to use those features.
  • Creators should not put private contact details, precise location, school details or other sensitive information into games.
  • QTI Labs does not intend game-creation fields to be used as a way to collect personal information from children.
  • A parent or guardian may contact QTI Labs to ask about a child's account information or request appropriate deletion, subject to verification and legal/operational requirements.

If QTI Labs becomes aware that personal information requiring parental consent was collected from a child without the required consent, we will take appropriate steps to restrict or delete that information where required.

This section is a privacy commitment, not a claim that every jurisdiction applies the same age threshold or consent rule. Family accounts and store/platform rules may also affect eligibility.

8. Purchases, Publish Credits and payment information

SparklePlay may offer Publish Credit Packs through supported app-store purchase systems. The app store or payment platform processes the underlying payment method. QTI Labs may receive transaction, receipt, product, purchase-status and entitlement information needed to verify a purchase, restore access, allocate publishing credits, handle support and prevent misuse.

QTI Labs does not need to receive or store a user's full payment-card number from an app-store purchase. The applicable store's privacy policy governs its own payment processing. See the Publish Credits & Pricing Policy for Publish Credit purchase, cancellation and refund information.

9. Device, local storage and diagnostics

SparklePlay may use local device storage for preferences, drafts, session state, cached content, onboarding status or other settings needed to provide a responsive app experience. The app and its supporting infrastructure may also generate technical information such as app version, operating-system information, error details, timestamps and security events when needed to diagnose failures, prevent abuse or maintain reliability.

We do not describe optional analytics or advertising SDKs as active unless they are actually enabled in the released app. If material data collection changes, this policy and the applicable app-store privacy disclosures should be updated accordingly.

10. How we use information

QTI Labs uses SparklePlay information to:

  • authenticate users and maintain account access;
  • save, restore and display creator work and My Studio state;
  • validate and test games;
  • operate the submission, review, correction and publishing workflow;
  • manage Publish Credit balances, purchase verification and purchase restoration;
  • provide support and respond to account, privacy or billing questions;
  • protect the service, investigate misuse and enforce applicable terms;
  • diagnose technical problems and improve reliability; and
  • comply with legal obligations and app-store requirements.

We do not use children's creator content as permission to build unrelated advertising profiles.

11. Sharing and service providers

QTI Labs may share or make information available only as reasonably needed to operate SparklePlay, comply with law or complete an action requested by the user. Service providers can include:

  • Google Firebase / Google Cloud services used by the app for functions such as authentication, database and storage capabilities.
  • Identity providers used when a user chooses a supported third-party sign-in method.
  • Apple App Store and Google Play for distribution, purchase processing, purchase processing and purchase restoration where applicable.
  • Infrastructure and professional providers used for secure hosting, support, legal/compliance or operational purposes where needed.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy obligations. QTI Labs does not sell SparklePlay users' personal information to advertisers.

12. Content intended for publishing

A game submitted and approved for a publishing experience may be made available to other users together with the game information necessary to identify and play it. Creators should therefore treat any submitted game content as potentially shareable after approval.

QTI Labs may remove or restrict published content that violates the Terms, creates privacy or safety concerns, infringes rights, or is otherwise unsuitable for the service.

13. Data retention

QTI Labs retains information for as long as reasonably needed to provide SparklePlay, maintain creator history and entitlements, complete review and publishing workflows, satisfy legal/accounting obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or enforce agreements. Different records may require different retention periods.

Deleting an account does not necessarily require immediate deletion of every record where retention is legally required, necessary to complete a purchase/refund record, protect the service, or preserve a limited audit trail. Information no longer required is deleted, anonymised or otherwise handled in accordance with applicable requirements.

14. Security

QTI Labs uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the service, including access controls and security rules around supported cloud data. No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their account credentials, use only trusted devices where possible and contact QTI Labs if they suspect unauthorised access.

15. Access, correction and deletion

Depending on the app version and applicable law, users or verified parents/guardians may be able to update profile information in the app or request access, correction or deletion by contacting QTI Labs. A request may require reasonable verification before account information is disclosed or deleted.

Deleting SparklePlay from a device does not by itself delete cloud account information. To request account/data deletion, use the in-app option where available or contact support@qtilabs.com. Store purchase records remain subject to the relevant store's retention rules.

16. International processing

Service providers used to deliver SparklePlay may process or store information in countries other than the user's country. Where applicable, QTI Labs relies on the safeguards and contractual/legal mechanisms available for those services and uses information only for the purposes described in this policy.

17. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as SparklePlay evolves, app-store requirements change or legal obligations develop. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date and, where appropriate, by providing an in-app or website notice. Continued use after a change is subject to applicable consent requirements.
