Interpretation principle
Jira is the source of truth. StatusDeck calculates management indicators from the authorised Jira fields available to the current user and the configured reporting profile. Calculated indicators are intended to support delivery conversations, not replace Jira records or organisational judgement.
Sprint metrics
| Signal | Interpretation |
|---|---|
| Delivery Progress | Completion based on the active estimation basis (for example Story Points, Original Estimate, eligible numeric field or issue count). |
| Completed / Remaining | Delivered and outstanding work in the selected reporting scope using the configured estimation basis. |
| Overdue | Open work items whose Jira due date has passed. |
| Unresolved Defects | Open Bug/Defect-classified work items in scope. |
| Blocked / Impeded | Open work whose Jira status indicates blocked, impediment or waiting-type states. |
| Scope movement | Changes to Sprint scope using available start/current baselines and Jira history. |
| Velocity | Historical delivery context for the relevant board, bounded by the product’s velocity history window. |
| Acceptance Criteria coverage | Coverage signal based on configured/recognised Acceptance Criteria data. |
| RAG / Delivery Risk | Management state derived from configured completion, defect, overdue and coverage thresholds. |
Project / Program aggregation
- Overall Project RAG is driven by the most severe current included-team RAG.
- Mean Team Completion is a simple mean of included board completion percentages; StatusDeck does not sum unlike estimation units into a single cross-team velocity.
- Teams on Track / at Risk counts Green versus Amber/Red team states.
- Overdue / defects / blocked are issue-count evidence summed across the included reporting contexts.
- Workload groups open work by Jira assignee and is a workload signal, not an individual productivity score.
Calculation help in the product
Where calculation-help tooltips are available, StatusDeck shows the formula/evidence behind a displayed KPI so users can understand why the current value or RAG was produced.
